Bill Manton

I qualified from Cambridge in 1983 and after a varied career in General Practice, including as a practice owner, became an ophthalmic referral clinician in 2003, having obtained the RCVS CertVOphthal at the first attempt in 1997 and then achieved AVP status in the first tranche of candidates in 2015.

Prior to the inception of Snowdonia Eye Vets I have been the lead clinician of the Ophthalmology Departments of three referral centres (Woodcroft Referrals, ChesterGates Referrals and then Rutland House Referrals) followed by a short spell at Eyevet Referrals in Cheshire.

I am experienced in all aspects of ophthalmic surgery and have 13 years of cataract surgery experience having performed, to date, 271 such procedures.

I am a member of the British Association of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (BrAVO), the European Society of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ESVO) and The UK and Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (UKISCRS).

When not wielding an ophthalmoscope, I can usually be found walking the Snowdonia Mountains or torturing the ears of audiences in my capacity as a keen amateur violinist.
